Wisconsin Metal Parts, Inc. (WMPI) produces complex metal parts via CNC machining, fabricating, welding, stamping, fiber laser cutting, wire EDM, tool and die making, contract manufacturing and assembly.

The Challenge

WMPI expanded their service offerings to include welding and sheet metal fabrication. They invested in a new building and equipment including two new 5,000-watt fiber lasers and a 300-ton electric press brake. This presented two additional challenges: First, finding new customers to keep these fiber lasers at capacity. Second, recruiting and hiring skilled labor needed to run this state-of-the-art equipment.


The Solution

WMPI selected Marketing Metrics Corp. based on their track record in developing and implementing effective recruiting and digital marketing strategies for job shops.

Phase 1


Phase 1 included updating the website including writing unique content for sheet metal fabrication, welding, contract manufacturing and assembly. The content consisted of example projects organized by industries and services as well as three educational blogs explaining the differences between a Fiber and CO2 laser, cost drivers of fabricated parts and tolerances held.

Phase 2


Phase 2, which is ongoing, provides an aggressive awareness and lead generation strategy with SEO, pay-per-click, social media, PR, sales collateral, content writing, generating highly targeted prospect lists and email marketing campaigns. We also researched and launched a new CRM software program which improved the efficiency and effectiveness of their sales team. These digital marketing efforts helped achieve awareness and top rankings for highly competitive search terms on major search engines and resulted in substantial growth in new business.

Phase 3


To keep up with the new clients and growth that these tactics generated, Phase 3 included a recruitment/employment marketing effort including new software which made it easier to recruit and hire new employees, content writing for a new employment page with articles targeted towards women and millennials as well as a PR, branding and social media campaign.
